Tips and best practices

  • Hero blocks: Only for use on the site homepage, do not use on subpages (possible exceptions: microsite or special feature)
  • The Homepage Hero H1 title should be the same as the website name, not a tagline or welcome message
  • In most cases, drop "Office of" or "Office" and only use the subject area of the unit/page name (ex: Risk Management, Equal Opportunity)
  • There is no need to put "Iowa State University" in the H1 or site name
